Welcome to the Fire Subcamp. Our 10-14 campers will bring warmth and passion to Charnwood. We are often associated with Thermal Energy where energy is carried by heat flow. We will certainly be needed at the Campfire!

Fire Subcamp Leader
Hi, I’m Emma Chodynicki, Guide Subcamp Leader for Fire Subcamp. Over the last 20 or so years since moving to Leicestershire, I have been a Leader in all Girlguiding sections from Rainbows to Rangers along with holding various County appointments and being a Division Commissioner. I have been to every Charnwood since 1996 both with my Guides and in assorted roles as staff including being Subcamp Leader for Sleighride to Sweden in 2001 and leading the Subcamp Ultimate Challenge Team in 2016. My first experience of an International Scout and Guide Camp was visiting Lincolnshire’s Poacher Camp as a Brownie. I still remember the buzz of walking through this massive tented village, listening to Scouts and Guides from all over the world chattering enthusiastically to each other and taking part in exciting activities I’d never tried before. Over 30 years on, I’m looking forward to being part of the Charnwood 2019 Team, helping many other Scouts and Guides to experience the same buzz as I did all those years ago.
Fire Subcamp Leader
Hi I’m Bethan and I am currently an Explorer Leader at 73rd Leicester Groby.
I began as a Brownie a long long time ago and progressed through the Guide movement to attain my Baden Powell before becoming a Venture Scout. I continued with Guides as a young leader and attained my Queens Guide and also my Queens Scout through my adventures with my Venture unit.
I became an Venture and then an Explorer leader at the age of 21 and have been one ever since! Our leadership team have led unit camps abroad to France, Austria and Switzerland as well as more local ones throughout the UK.
I attended Warwickshires international camps whilst I was growing up and have been to several Charnwoods. I also warden regularly at JLW scout campsite and have done so for the last 20 years.
In my spare time I love camping and hill walking and relaxing round a campfire with my family who are also all part of the Scouting and Guiding family.
I am really excited to be one of your subcamp leaders and am looking forward to all the fun Charnwood 2019 will bring.
