Fire Subcamp

Welcome to the Fire Subcamp. Our 10-14 campers will bring warmth and passion to Charnwood. We are often associated with Thermal Energy where energy is carried by heat flow. We will certainly be needed at the Campfire!

Emma Chodynicki

Fire Subcamp Leader

Hi, I’m Emma Chodynicki, Guide Subcamp Leader for Fire Subcamp.  Over the last 20 or so years since moving to Leicestershire, I have been a Leader in all Girlguiding sections from Rainbows to Rangers along with holding various County appointments and being a Division Commissioner.  I have been to every Charnwood since 1996 both with my Guides and in assorted roles as staff including being  Subcamp Leader for Sleighride to Sweden in 2001 and leading the Subcamp Ultimate Challenge Team in 2016.  My first experience of an International Scout and Guide Camp was visiting Lincolnshire’s Poacher Camp as a Brownie.  I still remember the buzz of walking through this massive tented village, listening to Scouts and Guides from all over the world chattering enthusiastically to each other and taking part in exciting activities I’d never tried before.  Over 30 years on, I’m looking forward to being part of the Charnwood 2019 Team, helping many other Scouts and Guides to experience the same buzz as I did all those years ago.

Fire Subcamp Leader

I joined the Scouting movement at the age of 6, becoming a Beaver at 43rd St Peter’s and staying with them through to Explorers.
At 18 I became a leader at Ratby and after moving round several groups I’ve settled at 73rd Groby as a Scout Leader.
I have been a warden at John’s Lee Wood for 13 years and now run the campsite. I’m also qualified as an air rifle instructor, paddle sport instructor and Bell Boat Helm.
I love camping and most of my holidays are spent on campsites around the country that will allow Daisy Dog and have decent walks.
